Far & Wide + Ukuleles in April

Hello Friends,

As Snowstorm Stella hammered the eastern seaboard last month, laying a heavy mantle of wet snow that crippled NYC, we holed up for 3 days outside the Boston area to watch the white pile up from our hotel room. Unfortunately, our much-anticipated show with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks March 14 in New York was canceled because of the relentless weather. We hope to reschedule that appearance as soon as possible. We were grateful that the storm wasn’t worse than it was. We’re happy to say the rest of our March east coast tour was great. Highlights include a memorable show at a neighborhood pub in New Jersey, our third appearance at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, two events in Boston at Club Passim and an on-air live show in Pennsylvania at WEEU Radio.  We connected with friends old and new and even gave a ukulele workshop.

UPCOMING | We’re continuing to write new material and will be debuting songs and spoken word pieces at upcoming shows. Exciting! We’ve got lots more traveling on the books for April. We’ll be making our first appearance at a music festival in Florida, as well as returning to a favorite ukulele festival in Reno.  This time, we’re taking the whole band to the Reno Ukulele Fest (aren’t they in for a treat?!)

NEW KC WORKSHOP SERIES | Last month we gave a ukulele workshop and it sold out. We asked the attendees if they would like us to give more of these and the resounding answer was “Yes”.  So, we’ve decided to offer the workshops that we give at ukulele fests around the country when we’re home.  We’ve got the next two planned and we’re excited to share them with you!  The first one is April 29, class size is limited – don’t wait to get your TICKETS.

ONWARD | Our feeling of inspired forward motion endures. We’re going to keep doing. Keep making. Keep thinking, feeling, talking, acting, and extending a hand across the divides in our lives. We’re going to keep choosing hope and action over cynicism and keep changing things for the better everywhere we can.  As Andy Warhol said, “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
Cheers,
Erin (Penny)
