Hello, friends…
I can hardly believe it. After all the planning, waiting, dreaming and anticipating, our wedding weekend is here! We are over the moon and feel So. Incredibly. Ready. to get married! We’re excited for the weekend as friends and family from far and near are gathering in Kansas City to share our day, give their blessing and celebrate with us. The ceremony will be filled with music and readings by some of our dearest friends. We can’t wait for this next chapter of our lives together to begin! I promise we’ll post loads of pictures.
After the wedding, we’ll take a short trip to Chicago to celebrate and just take a deep breath. We look forward to a couple of quiet days to reflect on this new journey and recuperate from the big weekend. We’ll be right back to work the next weekend and then we’re off to summer shows and tours. We plan to take a proper honeymoon to Spain and Portugal next fall. No working on the honeymoon!
We feel incredibly grateful to all of you who have reached out to us via email, text and social media with your good words and well wishes. Your support and encouragement mean the world to us. As I said in my engagement post, a second chance at love is a rare and wonderful thing and we feel grateful every day. Many of you have inquired about a registry – thank you so much for thinking of us!

What is REAL?” asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. “Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?” “Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse. “It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.” “Does it hurt?” asked the Rabbit. “Sometimes,” said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. “When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.” “Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,” he asked, “or bit by bit?” “It doesn’t happen all at once,” said the Skin Horse. “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.
